1 Corinthians 9:25 - All athletes practice strict self control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
Paul is reminding the Corinthians that controlling their desires to sin is not for a mere earthly prize. It is for an eternal prize from God in heaven. But we have to practice strict self control.
Controlling my sin is tough. Just because I am saved doesn't mean I am sinless, it just means I sin less. I have to work hard at my self control so that I may stay right in the eyes of God.
Dear Lord, give me the strength and courage to have the self control over my sin, so that I may enjoy my eternal prize in heaven with You forever. Amen!
God Bless!!!
