Reverence

Psalm 111:10 - Reverence for the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.  The rewards of wisdom come to all who obey Him.  Praise His name forever!

To begin to have any true understanding of God and all His glory, we must first live in awe and obedience to Him.  Only then will we begin to reap the great rewards He has for us.

Do I show the proper reverence to God in my daily life?  I like to think I do.  Only He can judge that though.  I'm a big believer in always doing more.  Maybe we all should.

Dear Lord, thank You.  I hope I can show You the proper respect and obedience You deserve, so I can see what You have in store for me.  Amen!

Rejoicing

Psalm 109:28 - Then let them curse me if they like, but You will bless me!  When they attack me, they will be disgraced!  But I, Your servant, will go right on rejoicing!

God's love will save us from everything.  He will never let us down.  All we need is faith in Him, and He will rescue us from our attackers.

Because of this passage, I will fear no man, because I know that God will rescue me.  His faithful love endures forever.

Dear Lord, I thank You for saving me.  I know I need to have no fear with You in my life.  You will protect me.  Amen!

Love

Psalm 107:43 - Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the lord.

If you take some to read the bible thoroughly, you see that the one constant through everything is God's love.  No matter how angry He got at His chosen people, when they called, He answered.  Because He loved them.  He will always be there for you, but you have to call.

Because of this passage, I will faithfully call on the Lord to rescue me.  I know He loves me, and I know He will save me from sin.  Because He loves me.

Dear Lord, I ask Your help in defeating sin.  I know You will help me because You love me.  Thank You Lord.  Amen!

Prosperity

Psalm 106:5 - Let me share in the prosperity of Your chosen ones.  Let me rejoice in the joy of Your people; let me praise You with those who are Your heritage.

All we can do is ask.  God will decide whether or not we will enter His Glorious Kingdom.  He loves us and wants us, but we have to love Him and want Him.

Because of this passage, I will continue to ask for God's forgiveness every day.  I know I am a sinner, but God has redeemed me because He loves me.  And I will continue to ask for His grace every day.

Dear Lord, I am a sinner.  I'm not worthy of Your love and grace.  I beg Your forgiveness and ask You to accept me as Your child.  Amen!

Thanks

Psalm 105:1 - Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness.  Let the whole world know what He has done.

It's amazing to me that there are still people in this world that don't know Jesus.  It is our duty as disciples of Christ to share it with everyone we can.  He died for us...that's worth talking about.

Because of this passage, I will not be ashamaed to share God's love with everyone I can.  His great works are worth talking about and people need to know.

Dear Lord, give me the wisdom and the words to share about You with everyone I can.  Amen!

Rejoice

Psalm 104:34 - May He be pleased by all these thoughts about Him, for I rejoice in the the Lord.

Making God happy is all we should be concerned with.  Whatever we do to please Him, we need to do more.  He deserves it.

Because of this passage, I will do more to please God.  Do I do enough now?  I hope so, but I will work harder to do more for Him.

Lord, help me to do more to please You.  Give me the guidance I need to give You the glory forever.  Amen!

Guarding

Proverbs 2:8 - He guards the paths of justice and protects those who are faithful to Him.

As long as we stay loyal and true to God, He will protect us.  How awesome is that?!  We cannot ask for anything more, nor do we need it.  He is everything we need.

Because of this passage, I will seek God's protection by remaining faithful and true to Him.  He deserves no less.

Dear Lord, I ask for Your guidance and wisdom as I remain faithful and true to You and that You'll grant me Your protection.  Amen!

Listen

Proverbs 1:33 - but all who listen to me will live in peace and safety, unafraid of harm.

Fear of the Lord is the only fear we should have.  As long as we have God on our side, we have nothing else to fear, because He has conquered it all.

Because of this passage, I will fear nothing other than the Lord.  He has given me this life to serve Him and not to worry about anything else.

Dear Lord, take away all my fears and give me calm and understanding.  With You, I need to worry about nothing and to serve You with pride.  Amen!

Love

Psalm 100:5 - For the Lord is good.  His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.

The Lord is not just good, He's great!  He loved us so much, He gave up His only Son to die so that we might know Him.  How amazing is that?!

Because of this passage, I will appreciate the gift God has given me more.  I think sometimes we take it for granted.  But we don't know how long we have, so accept His gift before it's too late.

Dear Lord, You are amazing.  I cannot thank You enough for the gift You have sacrificed for me.  I deserve none of it, but accept all of it.  Amen!

Exalt

Psalm 99:5 - Exalt the Lord our God!  Bow low before His feet, for He is holy!

God should be exalted above all others.  He is holier than all, and He deserves no less.  He is awesome in His power and grace.

Because of this passage, I will work harder to show God His proper due.  He saved me from certain death.  He is my rock and my Savior.

Dear Lord, all praise be to You.  You are so awesome and holy.  I don't deserve Your love and grace.  Amen!

Victory

Psalm 98:1 - Sing a new song to the Lord, for He has done wonderful deeds.  he has won a mighty victory by His power and holiness.

God has indeed done wonderful deeds.  His greatest victory was His victory over death.  He did it for us.  Because He loves us.  All our praise belongs to Him alone.

Because of this passage, I will work harder to make sure I praise God with everything I have.  He has saved me, and I owe more than I could ever pay.

Dear Lord, thank You.  You have defeated death and rescued me from the grave.  I am nothing in this world, but I am everything to You.  Thank You.  Amen!

Deeds

Psalm 96:3 - Publish His glorious deeds among the nations.  Tell everyone about the amazing things He does.

It is our duty as followers of Christ to share His word, and show His love.  For if we deny Him to our neighbor, He will deny us to His Father.

Because of this passage, I will get better about sharing God's word and showing His love, and how it saved me.  I will never deny Him.

Dear Lord, fill my mouth with the words You want me to say, so that I can show You proper praise and glory to everyone.  Amen!

Thrilled

Psalm 92:4 - You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me!  I sing for joy because of what You have done.

The Lord's blessings are thrilling.  He has made us His special people and He loves us unconditionally.  I love to sing His praises.  He has been so wonderful to me.

Because of this passage, I will sing God's praises even more every day.  He has done so much for me in my life, and I am thrilled to belong to him.

Dear Lord, thank You.  I am Yours eternally because of Your love.  I love to sing Your praises, and I will do it even more.  Amen!

Rescue

Psalm 91: 14-16 - The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love Me.  I will protect those who trust in My name.  When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble.  I will rescue them and honor them.  I will satisfy the, with a long life and give them My salvation."

It's all explained in this passage.  To experience God's eternal love, grace and glory all we have to do is love Him and trust Him, and He will give us the greatest gift:  His salvation.

Because of this passage, I will love the Lord so He will rescue me.  I will trust Him so He will protect me.  I want His salvation.

Dear Lord, I love You like no other.  I trust You more than anything or anyone.  Rescue me from my sin Lord.  Amen!

Responsibility

Proverbs 24:12 - Don't try to avoid responsibility by saying you didn't know about it.  For God knows all hearts, and He sees you.  He keeps watch over your soul, and He knows you knew!  And He will judge all people according to what they have done.

By lying to God, we are only hurting ourselves.  He knows the truth.  He knows our hearts.  Accept responsibility for your sinful nature, and confess it to Him.  He will save you from yourself.

Because of this passage, I will work harder to accept my responsibility for my salvation.  I can only go to Heaven through Jesus, and I want Him in my life.

Dear God, I accept my role in my salvation.  I confess my sins to You, God, and beg for your forgiveness and mercy.  Please heal me Lord, so that I may know You.  Amen!

Listening

Proverbs 23:19 - My child, listen and be wise.  Keep your heart on the right course.

The more we keep our mouths shut and our ears open, the more we are able to listen and understand God's teachings.  This will keep our heart on the right course.

Because of this passage, I will dedicate myself to listening more so I can hear God speak to me.

Dear Lord, help me quiet my mind...and my mouth...so that I may hear You more clearly.  Amen!

Teach

Psalm 86:11 - Teach me Your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to Your truth!  Grant me purity of heart, that I may honor You.

Living according to God's truths and honoring Him should our main purpose in life.  If we do this, everything else will fall into place according to His plan.  And He has great plans for us.

Because of this passage, I will work harder to make sure that I am honoring God with all that I do.  I know He has great plans for me, and I'm excited to see what they are.

Dear Lord, help me honor You more.  All I want is Your will to be done so that Your perfect plan will be revealed.  Teach me, O Lord.  Amen!

Protector

Psalm 84:11 - For the Lord God is our light and protector.  He gives us grace and glory.  No good thing will the Lord withhold from those who do what is right.

God truly is our everything.  As long as we are doing right in His eyes, He will not hold anything back from us.  He will give us everything that we deserve.

Because of this passage, I will strive to always do right by God.  he has done right by me without fail, He deserves all the glory and praise.

Dear Lord, help me as I strive harder to do right in Your eyes.  I want everyone to see Your love.  Amen!

Relief

Psalm 81:6 - Now I will relieve your shoulder of its burden; I will free your hands from their heavy tasks.

When we give our lives to God, he takes care of us.  He has already relieved our burden of sin with his Son Jesus, and once we accept that, our lives are much simpler.

Because of this passage, I will make sure that I leave it all up to God.  I will take myself out of the equation so God can create the masterpiece He planned.

Dear Lord, I am nothing without You.  I cannot accomplish it on my own.  I need You more than anything else in my life.  Heal me dear God.  Amen!

Plans

Proverbs 19:21 - You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail.

Everything happens according to God's will and His design.  The sooner we realize and accept that, the better off we will be.  There's nothing wrong with having ideas about what you want to do, but God's plans are solid.

Because of this passage, I will get better about leaving everything up to God.  I won't get discouraged when things don't go the way I want them to, because I know God has better plans for me.

Dear Lord, I ask You to help me understand Your plans for me.  Help me to not get discouraged when my plans don't work.  Your will be done.  Amen!

Our Rock

Psalm 78:35 - Then they remembered th at God was their rock, that their redeemer was the Most High.

God is our everything.  The people of Israel forgot this.  When Moses was leading them through the wilderness, they grew impatient and rebelled against God.  When they remembered, He saved them yet again.

Because of this passage, I will never forget that God is my redeemer.  I am absolutely nothing without Him.

Dear Lord, I sing Your praises and give You my thanks for redeeming me and saving me from myself.  Amen!

Strength

Psalm 77:15 - You have redeemed Your people by Your strength, the descendants of Jacob and of Joseph by Your might.

We are all redeemed through God's power and love.  Nothing else saves us.  As soon as we begin to understand and accept this, then our lives truly begin.

Because of this passage, I will beg for God's redemption more.  Although I am saved and baptized, it's not a one time thing.

Dear Lord, I ask You to save me.  I know You gave Your Son for me and I thank You and accept Your gift.  Amen!

Praises

Psalm 75:9 - But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Israel.

God has done so many wonderful things for me in my life.  I proudly sing His praises and proclaim His glory.

Because of this passage, I will sing God's praises even louder and proclaim His glory even more fervently.  Everything I am I owe to Him.

Dear Lord, thank You for this day and thank You for my life.  I owe it all to Your glory and love.  Thank You so much!  Amen!

Criticism

Proverbs 15:32 - If you reject criticism, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.

Criticism, spoken from a true heart, is only intended to help.  Sometimes it can be tough to hear.  Before responding, examine their motives first.  Take it to heart and grow in understanding and God's love.

Because of this passage, I will listen carefully before I speak.  I will take criticism for what it is, and learn from it so I can be more of how God wants me to be.

Dear Lord, give me an open heart, and a slow tongue.  I know you only want the best for me.  Amen!

Shelter

Psalm 73:28 - But for me, how good it is to be near God!  I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things You do.

I love to tell people how I came to know Jesus.  We all should.  It should never be anything we are afraid of or embarrassed about.  We are so fortunate to have Him in our lives.  He loves us like no one can.  That's something worth sharing.

Because of this passage, I will proudly share God's love with anyone and everyone.  I have been so blessed by Him, everyone should know what that feels like.

Dear Lord, I thank You for loving me like no other can.  Your blessings for me have been countless.  I hope I can do You justice when I share about You.  Amen!

Control

Proverbs 13:3 - Those who control their tongue will have a long life; a quick retort can ruin everything.

How many times did our parents tell us when we were kids to think before we speak?  I think I lost count after a few hundred.  A lot can be gained by thinking first.  Much more can be lost by not.

Because of this passage, I will work harder to think before I speak.  I will let my brain process everything and let God do His great work so I say the right thing.

Dear Lord, I ask Your help to help me hold my tongue and prevent me from saying the wrong things.  I will accomplish everything through You.  Amen!

Wonder

Psalm 71:19 - Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens.  You have done such wonderful things.  Who can compare with You, O God?

No one can compare with God.  He is the best of everything.  he deserves our praises and love a lot more than we deserve His.

Because of this passage, I will praise God with every ounce of my being.  He has done so much for me in my life, it is the very least I could do.

Dear Lord, I offer You my most heartfelt praises for everything You have done, and everything You will do in my life.  You are the best.  Amen!

Pride

Proverbs 11:2 - Pride leads to disgrace, but with Humility comes wisdom.

There are two types of people in the world.  Those who are humble and those who are about to be.  We have nothing to be proud of in this life.  We are all sinners.  But if we humble ourselves to God, He will restore us.

Because of this passage, I will humble myself to God, and beg His forgiveness for all I have done wrong.  His is the grace I need.

Dear Lord, I come before You and humbly beg Your forgiveness.  Save me from myself God.  I need Your help.  Amen!

Strength

Psalm 68:35 - God is awesome in His sanctuary.  The God of Israel gives power and strength to His people.

God gives what we need to defeat sin in our hearts.  We accomplish it all through Him.  He is indeed awesome, and we are blessed because of Him.

Because of this passage, I will lean on God for my strength.  I overcome all because of His love, and I am eternally grateful to Him.

Lord, give me the strength and power to overcome my sin.  I need You in my life more than anything.  Amen!

Confess

Psalm 66: 18-19 - If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, my Lord would not have listened.  19 - But God did listen!  He paid attention to my prayer.

When we confess our sins and accept Jesus as our Savior, God looks favorably on us, and will listen and answer our prayers.  He will give us the answers He determines we need.

Because of this passage, I will continue to confess my sins to God with my heart.  Just because I am saved and baptized, doesn't mean I am sinless, it means I sin less.  God knows my heart, and He knows what I need.

Dear Lord, I beg You to forgive me of my sins, and grant me Your favor.  Give me what I need to bring You glory.  Amen!
